We have set a personal goal to secure the ongoing resources the Party needs each month, and we are trying to get there with Democracy Bonds. By getting your Democracy Bond, you're making a commitment to contribute monthly to the Democratic Party in order to: Take Back The Congress!! We can then INVESTIGATE The war in Iraq, the illegal wire tapping and the security leaks.

"Democracy Bonds" are about building a community of Americans with a stake in our common future -- locally, nationally, and globally. They will bond together a person in Alaska and a person in Ohio where parties are accountable to ordinary people.

You only buy one bond. You can adjust your financial commitment per month at anytime, depending on what you can afford, but the principle is democratic with a small-d -- one person, one bond. Every person can be a stakeholder in our party.

Governor Howard Dean launched the "Democracy Bonds" program (and bought the first one himself to signify his commitment) because he believes that we can take our country back -- precinct by precinct, block by block, with every Democrat taking responsibility for getting their family, friends and neighbors involved.

The Republicans raise $10 million every month from corporate interests and lobbyists. We can not allow these special interests to continue unabated and destroy our Democracy. The Democratic Party will never be able to compete in the traditional ways with a party that has abandoned the people and taken selling access and influence to a new level.

But we can do it if half a million people are giving $25 a month to change the way our political process works.
