I understand what the American flag is.

Origin of the Lie Clock joke
By Hollywood Jul 26th 2008 at 7:28 am EDT
It was told about Bill, then Hillary Clinton in the 1990s, updated to include George W. Bush and even Kwamwe Kilpatrick. I say in the 90s - the first telling of this joke on the internet I can find is 2001.

Paid for by the Committee to Elect John S. McCain President. Shouldn't you be posting these at the RNC where it would appear that you would belong as well?

uncalled for matty. You are disrepesting many hear who happen to support Obama. I don't think that's your intention but that's how they may feel.

Abomination
By BobVADemHawk Jul 26th 2008 at 7:59 am EDT
Seeing this makes my blood boil. The GOP has done its dead level best to sell this great nation of ours out to the highest bidder. This is a prime example. It is an abomination, IMHO, that any flag is made outside of the United States. The proverbial widget made in China, India, or whereever, is one thing. The flag is an entirely different matter. It is the symbol of what makes this nation of ours great.

And before anyone asks, I support a constitutional amendment that bans flag burning. In fact, I believe it should be a felony.

It wasn't just the GOP. Bill Clinton had a hand in expanding trade with China. A lot of the outsourcing of jobs overseas happened under his watch and by his trade policies.

point?

I think the point here is that so many peole claim to be patriotic, but they ship American jobs overseas while Amercians struggle. How many of you wear a flag pin everyday? I don't think that if you don't it means you are not patriotic.

the point?

National identity becomes more trivial as globalization of trade and markets increases.

hmmm

I guess it means it's cheaper to manufacture crappy trinkets in China than in the US. Nothing more. We need to train for higher paying jobs, or move our blue collar workers to china, Hong Kong is fabulous, all the comforts of NY and LA combined! Though they would have to commute to the New Territories to the factories.
