Looks like McCain might be close to announcing his running mate. Any thoughts about who he might choose? I think Mitt Romney or Carly Fiorina.

I think choosing Romney will get Michigan in the GOP column.

I think Romney is his best chance of winning.

I'm hoping

I'm hoping Mitt Romney. He'll add some conservatism and business experience to the ticket. It's very disappointing we have McCain listed at the top. His policies are little better than Hillary's or Obama's.

Isn't it weird that Obama record is left of the avowed socialist in the Senate? Does that make him a Marxist? Very worrisome. Of course, you never know where he'll stand on an issue tomorrow. Hell, he may end up being more conservative than McCain! LOL!

Some people think Obama moves closer to Bush each day. :)

Well, moving to the right is good, long term, for the country, but if I were a Dem voter, I would worry more about his vacillation on the issues. You may not like Bush, but he's been firm and consistent. That counts for something, especially as leader of the free (more or less) world.

LOL! You and your racism!

Surely you know what I am intending to say. Can you suggest better terms?

if Romney
By Liz Jul 21st 2008 at 8:36 pm EDT
All the remaining evangelicals will rush to Obama's arms.

Why do you REALLY think they returned all those children to their cult member mormon parents. (and no not all Mormons are members of sex abusing cults but apparently there is a great deal of evidence that the ones from that group in Texas are cultists--as far as I know their leader who has been shown in compromising photos with young girls (young being 12 years) is still missing.

you can bet that story will heat up if Romney is the nominee for vp

You have a point Liz.

Agree Liz== All the Evangelicals will see is a Mormon VP and to them being Mormon is like being in a cult-- NOT AGREEING!!! just saying what I have heard Evangelicals say!!

How do you make an emoticon for an eye roll? Why do you Dems always make a point to talk about things that are irrelvant (like religion, race, gender, etc.) Who cares if he's a Mormon? Who cares if Obama is black? Who cares if Hillary is a woman? Try to focus on something a little deeper, people.

I think they released those kids in Texas because they were seized without a properly supported warrant. Something you libs should support. You're very confusing...

Everyone is entitled to an opinion just like you with your Republican ideas and ideals. Look where they have put us the last several years....
Re: if Romney
By snakelips Jul 21st 2008 at 9:13 pm EDT
Yep, we all have a right to an opinion!

I'm not too pleased with Reps over the past several years either. I love the lower taxes, but we didn't cut spending accordingly. We went to war, justly, but didn't work hard enough to win it. Dems played a roll in those failings too though...

Unless something has happened, the last I read was McCain would not name a VP until Obama did. I think it is between Romney and Crist. The Republican's need to hold on to FL in the GE and that is one way, but with the lead he has in FL, MI may be a better prospect. Honestly, I think if what I read was true, it depends on who Obama picks.

Nope. And I'm not happy about it. How about we cut taxes AND cut spending. Oh, and read the constitution about what powers are granted to the federal gov't. Sound good?
