I probably will regret this, and I am sure my email act will, but I feel it necessary. I am not dong this just for me but for my whole family and friends that feel like we are lost at this point. I have been a democrat all my life (51 now). I have worked hard for Hillary but now I find myself in the position of either voting for someone I do not trust or believe in, or voting for a republican for the first time, or not voting at all. So, I am gong to do the stupid thing. I am tired of all the media telling us what to do. I want to talk to people, know the opinions of people who have been affected by this primary season, or that have worked for one of the candidates. What I would like is the following: Why should I vote for Obama? Don't give me the because you are a democrat. Give me some good reasons to vote for him. If you voted for Hillary and switched to Obama or vs versa, then tell me what helped you make that decision. And, for those Clinton supporters...same thing. If you voted for Hillary and now will vote for Obama, please tell me why. If you refuse to vote for Obama and want me to vote for McCain or stay home, then tell me some reasons I should. Thank you for this help. You can email me at getgreatbiz@excite.com Depending on how many replies I have to this and if I have other questions, I will respond to your email.

evening 04:00 comes early for these old bones I may be in an out tomorrow evening though I plan on reading Dr Zhivago again. The book is actually better than the movie with the exception that in the movie you get to hear Laura's Theme (Somewhere my love) played on the Russian Bellalika what a beautiful instrument

A good place to start would be his website------read ------listen to the hundreds of tapes of his speeches----if you don't want to do that here is a good start from sites unrealated to him---

Really upsets me when people say, WE DON'T KNOW WHO BARACK OBAMA IS
Link
850 RESULTS

or he hasn't done anything

Link
Barack Obama 124 Bills Sponsored
almost 600 when you include co-sponsored

John McCain 38 bills
almost 130 when you include co-sponsored

www.thomas.gov is a great place to start when you want to see what a polititian HAS DONE (or in McCain's case---NOT DONE)

Then there are the sites that record all the votes (or in McCain's case----not votes)

Try google----it is wonderful
God bless the world wide web

If you check the news in other countries, the world is rooting for us.

Our present economy and McCain will DRAG THEM DOWN WITH US.

To answer your question:
By Artemis Jun 10th 2008 at 12:52 am EDT
My youngest son enlisted in the Navy, which we consented to at the time because it seemed safe - out of harm's way. Little did I know what a Navy Corpsman would be doing.

He goes to basic in August, field medic training after and then has a 90% chance of being deployed in Iraq as a USMC Medic soon after January, 2009.

Terrifying.

With McClellan set to testify soon and Kucinich putting impeachment back on the table, is it not clear that this is not a just war? I believe that ANY Democratic candidate will see to it that it ends much sooner than McCain's "100 year +" strategy. I can't even call that a strategy.

As I understand it, a field medic isn't stationed in a hospital - they're out on patrol. IED's. Snipers. Rockets. Mortar shells. Insurgents. All looking for the red cross patch to weaken a squad by taking out their medic.

I don't want this. I already don't sleep nights and he's still here.

Artemis,

I understand your concerns. I have two sons who bought into, "this is my duty" - and are now stuck! My older son has done 3 tours over in that God forsaken place already. Both sons put off college because of what they thought was a noble cause.

I WANT THIS MESS OVER!!!!

Donia,

Thank you as well. may they all come home, alive and well. We'll stuff 'em so full of pot roast and potatoes that they won't fit out the door to go anywhere!

If you believe that the drop is due to the surge, then you don't know how to read.

That has been totally debunked---but then don't tell Hannity or Fox or Limpballs

My reasons.
By Mikey Jun 10th 2008 at 1:00 am EDT
I would have gladly voted for Senator Clinton in his stead. My reasons are where the two candidates agree changes need to be made.

The push for renewable energy

The need for health care reform (mandate or not)

Ending the war in Iraq

Government regulation on lenders to address the housing crisis

Recognition of the need to repair our standing in the world

Major Education reform

Better benefits for our veterans

More focus on domestic issues on badly injured social programs

Repealing tax cuts which favor the wealthy and corporations

There are reasons I backed him over her, but these issues I believe transcend both candidates. John McCain represents none of them.

The Helplessness of the Electorate
By Democrat in Boulder, CO Jun 10th 2008 at 1:12 am EDT
Hello

My dream ticket McCain Clinton 2008 Obama Sect of

State!

Red and Blue = Magenta the Color of Common Ground

United We Stand Divided We Fall!

Bill Clinton in his Book My Life said the Left

was fractured in the Johnson Administration,

Civil Rights and the Viet Nam War, I personally

am to this day a great admirer of Lyndon Johnson,

The country has been slit in two, some like

myself spilt within a party!

The Republican Party playing on the

ineffectiveness of the left has transformed our

federal government into a false flag operation,

I do not believe John McCain is party to the false

flag operations.

Our nation is at War! With every inch of soil

and every star of the Milky Way, soon to be declared a terrorist zone.

With an experienced military man in the white

house, we would have a president who may think

twice about secret prisoner

of war ships, Abu Grave, sending unequipped soldiers into battle.

Hillary Clinton is the policy wonk genius of our

time! She also was on the committee in college

who brought down Nixon.

Obama would be the first Sect of State in 16 years

besides Colin Powell's brief stint, that would be

allowed to attend a peace conference in the Middle

East solely because of his gender.

Alas we now live in a delusional democracy!

None the less I will vote for a Democratic

candidate in the Presidential Election, even though

at the bottom of my heart I believe will not be

a free election!

McCain or Obama continued
By Democrat in Fort Worth, TX Jun 11th 2008 at 5:52 am EDT
I thank you for your input. For the Hillary supporters it does not seem like Hillary is an option at this point. So, again, why should I vote for McCain over Obama?

I obviously and not familiar with the blogging and am having trouble with computer so don't get back here fast. You have given me a lot that I have been trying to read up on. I still have concerns with both. I feel like Obama is not being totally honest about his associations with others. Who is this Larry guy that I heard about today making accusations about Obama? Is it true? If not, then why doesn't Obama file charges on him?
McCain seems to be very strong on foreign policy but I have not heard or read much about his economic program.
Still looking for answers and listened to what you haVe to say.
