Today we were handed a gift by John McCain. that is that he choose to be his VP: Sara Palin. I was so amazed that he would do something that stupid that I had to turn on three different channels and the read it on the Internet this morning to believe it. MSNBC has been nice to her while CNN has Passively ripped her. I thought he would make a dumb choice by picking Pawlenty, but this by far exceeds any expectations I had about the stupidity someone can have in this big of a decision in politics. I predict that she could be the worst choice for VP ever.

Why do I feel this way ? She's like Ann Culter, Dan Quayle and Ted Stevens rolled into one. first off she will get owned by Joe Biden in a debate, It could be worse than Quayle-Benson, next she is an EXTREME right whinger, then there is the fact that she could be Indicted for her ties to the corrupt Ted Stevens and/ or the Illigit firing of her ex-brother-in-law (which I don't blame her for, but none the less is a possible count for indictment). She brings nothing as far as geography goes (3 Electoral Votes that were Leaning McCain anyway) and she forces him to give up his biggest argument (experience). She has been governor of the most corrupt political state in the nation for only one and a half years. and as if that was not enough there is something much bigger, about McCain. He is wiling to sacrifice his first (and hopefully last) executive decision in a hollow attempt to "Out Minority" Obama. I think it is more sick than anything we have seen through this entire campaign, and we have seen some pretty sick things.

and I am not sexist when it comes to politics (or anything else for that matter), Part of me was rooting for Obama to pick a dark horse in Barbra Boxer (but she would have problems appealing to Independents). I have a list of five people I want to see as Majority leader in 2009 two of whom are women, and if you attack Sara Palin because of her sex I will fight you with the same passion I did when I saw people play the Race card in the primaries.

so in short she was an incredibly stupid choice, but when you attack her, attack her on substance and not on sex or because of her last son.

Ted Kennedy's speech last night

We all saw Ted Kennedy Speak last night and there is one particular quote that I found Inspirational. it was a reference to his convention speech in 1980 when he gave the famous line "The work goes on, the cause endures, the Hope still lives, and the dream will never die" when Kennedy said this in 1980 he was giving up his life long dream of becoming president, it had become clear that it would never happen, but it was the end of something more than that. It was the end of the chances that there would ever be a full Kennedy presidency. the dream composed by Jack, Robert and Ted had perished in America.

To me it was something greater than even that. To me it is all the same dream: the same dream that inspired this country to be created in the first place, the same dream that inspired Abraham Lincoln and Hannibal Hamlin to fight for equality, The same dream that inspired Wilson to stay out of WWI as long as he could because he did not want a single drop of American blood (or any blood for that matter) to be spilled, the same dream that inspired Muhandus Ghandi to fight his repression with every ounce of his strength but to never raise a fist, the same dream that 20 years later inspired Sadat to offer Peace to Israel, the same dream that Mandela went to jail for 20 years to protect, The Dream that we can better our selves and, though it may take centuries,we can reach perfection.

What did ted Kennedy say that inspired me last night? "the dream lives on". this coming from Ted Kennedy after he has been diagnosed with Brain Cancer. He has never said such words for any other candidate. he is placing amazing stock and Hope in to Barack Obama. coming from the most recent American Dreamer of our times I feel obligated to act.as Kennedy him self said: "the Work Goes on, the cause endures, the Hope still lives and the dream will never die"

Obama VP's - Down to four (Three Really)

the shortlist has been leaked and there are four names left on it:
4. Sen. Evan Bahy (D-IN)

Now the only thing I know about the selection at this point is that it will not be Evan Bahy for two Reasons. 1) He's boring 2) If Obama wins and the Democrats get to 60 the governor of Indiana (Likely to remain Republican) will choose his replacement which means The GOP could Filibuster.

3.Gov. Tim Kane (D-VA)

At first when making my list, of 10 and then 7, I took off Tim Kane because I thought he was not well known enough. Obama think different. Kane is extremely charismatic and Powerful. Kane would be an excellent counter to the now likely McCain Pick of Eric Cantor. Kane could help bring Virginia and maybe North Carolina.

2. Gov. Kathleen Sabillius (D-KS)

Sabillius is a good choice. She could help with some Clinton supporters who wanted to see a woman in office. She makes it harder for McCain to use the Experience argument against Obama. She is fully able to be Vice President. She Can help in the Midwest, in states like MT, ND, SD, CO, IA, MO NM and NV. However, she is a risky choice. Racism and Sexism could prove difficult to overcome. The McCain Campaign could still bash them on foreign policy.

1. Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE)

I feel Biden is the by far the best choice Obama has. He is the one of the most qualified people in politics to be Vice President. He brings foreign policy experience. He has been a major critic of Bush and his Cronies. He will make almost every one more likely to vote for Obama. He is Respected by almost every one, he has a high approval rating. some people say he doesn't help with the map but I dis agree. I see him helping in states Like MN,MI,WI,PA,
OH,VA and CO.I think Biden will help make all Democrats and Liberal Independents feel better and make them More Likely to Vote. I feel Biden should, and is likely to be the VP.

The situation in Los Angeles

We just experienced a 5.8 earthquake Centered in chino Hills (27 Miles from LA). The ground had a large swaying sensation for a good 15-25 seconds. this is the biggest earthquake here since Northridge in 1994. It seems that every one is fine, Just a little shaken up. I've called Friends and Family and everyone I could get a hold of was fine. one of my friends said their ukilalee Broke. There have been about 3 after shocks of a 3.8 Magnitude, I only felt one of them. It seem's like everything is fine out here. Cell phone lines are out and Land lines are as well in some parts of the county. Hopefully the system won't jam. Every one here is pretty much fine, and on behalf of California I thank you for your concern.

Biden beat Edwards in the finals by a vote of 5-4.

Biden seems to be the one that is doing the best among people. He won this tournament, He was named the most Likely to be VP by Chris Mathews this week, he finished a close second to Clark in the CQ VP Madness and is the front runner in the MSNBC Veepstakes.

although I voted for Edwards I think he would help the ticket. He brings Foreign Policy experience, which people think Obama is Lacking. he helps bring liberals and Moderates together.

I think geographically he helps in Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Colorado.

Biden is a very good choice.

I have been looking at the Obaba leaked short list and have thrown in a few names that people suspect are on there but weren't leaked. there are only 10 people who could possibly be picked. 3 on the short list have said they won't take it (Webb, Strickland and Clinton). A Mark Warner pick would take him out of an important senate battle which could help democrats get to 60. there are a lot of names on there (E.G. Chris Dodd, Bill Nelson, Jack Reed and Evan Bahy) who are in the senate in states that have Republican Governors. so if Obama wins and the democrats get to 60 the Republican governor would get to pick the replacement, therefor the GOP could filibuster. I took off Kaine and Jones because they aren't well known enough, and John Kerry because simply it won't be john Kerry. Here are the 10 possible picks:

Note: I write this fully aware that I will be attacked for it, but people who know me know that I never shrink from the right fight.

I visited the PUMA website today to answer a few question I have about it. I found, from what I saw, that PUMA is an attempt to desolate every thing that common sense and the Democratic Party, party of Robert Kennedy stands for. these are not normal Clinton Supporters, normal Clinton supporters are voting for Obama or at least considering it. This is a forum to proudly display ignorance, Racism and common disregard for people in need. These People are not Democrats, they are therocrats. I personally feel that the PUMA party could be more harmful to America and Democracy than the Republican Party.

this goes against the Ideals of Democracy in every sense of the word. People are voting against their own interests and Ideals to satisfy Ignorant, Racist and/or twisted theological needs. These are the same people who say Obama is associated with Islam. These are people who will say anything to satisfy their twisted needs. These are people who would gladly let the constitutional crises of the Bush Admin. go on just because they wanted Hillary more, or they can not find it with in themselves to vote for a black man. These are not real Democrats. I condemn this twisted and/or hateful organization and I hope you will join me.

John Zogby, Whom I have always considered the best pollster in America, has just released some new numbers. His electoral count is Obama 273 McCain 160 with 105 to close to call. of the 32 states he polled McCain only has a 10+ point lead in one state: Alabama. Obama has a 10 point lead in every Kerry State Except New Hampshire (3 Points) as well as in New Mexico. These numbers should be taken with a grain of salt, but also may be the most accurate polling of the election so far. Here is the link If you like Numbers your going to want to see this.

Hillary Clinton LOST FAIR AND SQUARE. BARACK OBAMA IS THE NOMINEE, GET OVER IT. I know it sucks to have your candidate loose but it's not the end of the world. and for all of you that say Obama can't win in November, Most of you are the same People that said Hillary had the Nomination 16 Months ago. I have not yet looked at a single piece of statistical data that says Obama is not electable. for all of you who say he is "Flip flopping" on every Issue it is not true. He's only moved on Two Issues: FISA (And even there he hasn't moved as much as people say) and The Death Penalty. He did not Flip Flop on Campaign finance, that's a load of bull and you Know it, And Had Hillary been the Nominee she would have Moved too.

I'm sorry if this sounds blunt and Arrogant but I'm Sick of people who Keep feeding me this B.S.

New Cook Ratings on the House

I had a nice Fourth of July and I hope you had the same.
It's been a slow Political week.

Charlie Cook Has just released new House Ratings. There has been a big shift these from Just July 19th. Though Cook has not touched the Democrats Ratings, he has put 21 new republicans into the list of competitive seats and has moved 2 GOP Districts in New York from Tossup To Leaning Dem as well as one Lean GOP to Tossup and 3 Likely GOP to Lean GOP. As a student of Politics I know that Cook Does not just put 21 seats in to his ratings. The GOP back lash in the House could be Massive. 78 GOP held seats are now Considered Competitive (4 Lean Dem, 18 are Tossups) to only 35 Democrats (Only 7 are tossups none Lean GOP.

This hits Close to home for me. One congressman who was added (as Likely GOP) was Dana Rorabacher (Cringe), my Rep. My district's PVI is only R+6. Rorabacher won by 23 Points. It is looking More and More like that Margin will be squandered to perhaps as little as 5-6 Points. Though I am doubtful Rorabacher will be defeated, it is still possible. He is running against a popular Mayor (Debbie Cook, No relation to Charlie Cook) and I will do all I can to see this scum bag Defeated in November. So I am asking you to join me in a sense. If you live in a district where you have a scum-bag Incumbent like Dana Rorabacher, And your district is Rated by Charlie Cook (Or CQ, Or Stuart Rothenberg) try all you can to help get them out of office.

Electoral Science, just something I find Interesting

I've been looking at a bunch of Data for the election and I have found something interesting. It is my theory that Obama should be the rightful winner of Indiana and California. In California Obama won at the polls but due to early voting (when Clinton was way ahead) he lost the state. In Indiana Republicans causing mischief caused Obama to Loose. the GOP was 10% of the Voting Population and Clinton won 54-46. Had it not been for them causing mischief not only would the % of GOP in the Voting Pop be smaller, but Obama would have carried it. thus Clinton's 14,000 Vote Margin would have been about a 30,000 Vote Margin For Obama had the GOP not interfered. I Find this Interesting but pointless by now.
