THE OFFICIAL COLLEGE OUTREACH ARM OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Protect A Women's Right To Choose
About the Author
We can't let Roe v. Wade be overturned. Fight to keep a women's right to choose.

Ladies and gentlemen, if we were to look at Mccains record on womens rights, it would remind us of Chinas record on human rights.

It is abominable. John Mccain has spent over 25 years working against womens rights. He voted against womens healthcare 125 times. He plans to overturn Roe VS Wade and outlaw abortion.

I admit im no fan of abortion myself, but who am i to think that i know better than a woman or her doctor about an issue that doesnt affect me AT ALL!? I wouldnt force my views on the American people, and neither should John Mccain!!!

Because his views are not right for the american people! or the women of america!!!

Moreover, who is John Mccain to decide? Or his judges in black robes?

What do they know? Asking a judge on advice about abortion is like asking a Soccer player to perform surgery! The two just dont go together!

Then theres also Mccains Birth Control and Viagra Moments:

Ladies, is THIS the guy you want in the Oval Office making decisions about YOUR rights that he doesnt even KNOW ABOUT?

Ladies, vote for Barack Obama, he supports womens healthcare, and a womans right to choose.

Men everywhere, do the right thing, be a real man, stand up for women and vote for Barack Obama.

Do it for your wives, sweethearts, daughters, sisters, nieces, cousins, aunts, mothers, grandmothers, and all your female friends.

Help us STOP John Mccain!

DO THE RIGHT THING MEN!!!
There is a post further down that talks about women dying in pregnancy...

If the anti-choice supporters really supported unborn life they would ensure that prenatal care was provided for EVERY pregnant woman!!! In our county over 600 women/year do not get prenatal care because we DO NOT have enough providers... They also don't have gas money to get to their appointments-- Women/babies die every year in pregnancy-- If they had good access to prenatal care the numbers could be reduced. I can't tell you how many times that I have seen a woman without care, who is term that comes in with a dead baby... This is a wanted pregnancy... She didn't have an abortion... Once she decided that, then the so called "pro-lifers" don't care!!!

Our infant mortality rate is terrible compared to other countries...

What about children??? The anti choice people work so hard to take care of the unborn.... What happens when children don't have health care??? They die... but this problem doesn't seem to matter... If you really support life, then HEALTH CARE for everyone should be number one on your list... RIGHT???
McCain is angry at the press for their questions regarding his VP choice--- I would like to know what you all think are questions he would approve???

If McCain is not ok with the press asking questions like "Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record?? and THIS a TERRIBLE question Where does she stand on the issues??? I am having a problem here thinking of an "approved question" list...

Maybe we can come up with a list of questions that we feel McCain would approve... I honestly have been racking my brain and can't think of any--Can you??

Could Sarah Palin become the first running mate since Thomas Eagleton in 1972 to be dropped from a major-party ticket? Joshua Green offers a look at how such a scenario would unfold.

They, the Republicans at the RNC, sure look like a stuffy bunch of good ole boys!

Our bunch, at the DNC, looked like a happy hopeful bunch of everyday people having a great time!

I'd rather be one of our bunch anytime! I think the DNC really *looked* like all Americans. The RNC look how they accuse Barak of looking...the RNC *look* like elitist.

ABC new reports that members of 'Fringe' Alaskan Independence Party Say Palin Was a Member in the 90s. This group wants Alaska to succeed from the U.S.A.

The foundation of the Republican Party was started with Abraham Lincoln and keeping the South from succeeding from the Union... Now they have a V.P. candidate who belonged to a group that believes that Alaska needs to succeed from the United States...????

Great choice McCain!!! great choice... still am shaking my head!!
Happy birthday, Johnny Mac! You're 72 now, a cancer survivor and a presidential candidate who has said that the most important criterion for picking a vice president is whether he or she could immediately step in if something happened to the president. Your campaign against Barack Obama is based on the simple idea that he is unready to be president. So you've picked a running mate who a year and a half ago was the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, a town of about 7,000 people. You've selected a potential leader of the free world who knows little or nothing about the major issues of the day beyond energy. Oh, and she's being probed in her state for abuse of power.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's debut in Dayton, Ohio, on Friday was good political theater. She delivered a pitch-perfect speech with a panache that suggests she could be a natural on the national stage. Maybe Palin is a north-country version of Obamaâ"an autodidact who, while juggling so many other things, managed to educate herself on the deductibility of health-care benefits and the constellation of forces in the Sunni Triangle. She speaks cogently and convincingly on television, which is a huge advantage. It's not hard to see why she appealed to McCain: her middle-class roots; her older son headed for Iraq with the U.S. Army; her (recent) opposition to the earmarked "bridge to nowhere." If camera-ready Palin helps McCain close the gender gap and win in November, she'll be history's hockey mom.

But there's a reason that rookies rarely score hat tricks. It's not her lack of name recognition; America loves a fresh face, especially one that's a cross between a Fox anchor and a character on "Northern Exposure," the old TV show about an Alaska town roughly the size of Wasilla. The problem is that politics, like all professions, isn't as easy as it looks. Palin's odds of emerging unscathed are slim. In fact, she's been all but set up for failure, which is yet another reason McCain's choice may prove to be irresponsible.   Read More »
Sarah Palin's water broke when she was 8 months pregnant with a high risk Down Syndrome premature baby prior to giving a keynote speech at the Republican Governor’s Energy Conference in Dallas, Texas. After her water broke, she gave the speech, and then proceeded to fly home.... Did she inform the airlines... NO!!! One hour after she arrived at the hospital her baby was born.

Having worked in OB for the last 20 years I have real concerns with a woman who is suppose to be this awesome mother who really politicized her anti choice beliefs with continuing a pregnancy with a known Down Syndrome baby and then makes a choice to fly 8 hours after her water breaks with a 5th baby!! This makes me wonder about her judgement and true feelings about this baby... (I feel strongly that having a Down Syndrome baby is NOT WRONG AT ALL but a Down's baby has many more risks for having other complications and needs the staff available to step in and resuscitate if necessary NOT A FLIGHT ATTENDANT WITH A PHONE TO A DOCTOR GIVING HIM/HER INSTRUCTIONS!!! This baby was also premature!!!)

I think the press needs to LEAVE Sarah's daughter ALONE-- I am VERY worried about her health due to this new added stress!!! LEAVE HER DAUGHTER ALONE!!!!
Sarah Palin, John McCain's VP pick actually said in an another interview when asked what she thought about the "under God" in the pledge of allegiance, if it was good enough for our "founding fathers" it was good enough for her.

Uhm, the "One Nation Under God" was added in 1954. I really believe that Franklin, Adams, Jefferson and all others of our distinguished founding fathers were long gone then.It honestly makes me shudder to think this woman knows so little about American history and our Founding Fathers. Does she even know anything about separation of church and state?

I'm not that hung up on separation of Church and State, that I actually care if we say "One Nation Under God" in our pledge, I don't have a problem with it at all, but I can understand how some people who are atheists could have a problem with it, after all, this is a country founded on freedom of religion.

How the GOP, McCain or anyone could possibly think Sarah Palin could possibly pull in disgruntled Hillary voters baffles me. Again, I say, a Hillary she is not. I am quite sure that Hillary knew and has known for a very long time when "under God" was added to the pledge of allegiance.

The more I learn of Mrs. Palin the more frightened I become. I am not even sure frightened is the proper word, I think it's more of shock. This time the GOP has shocked and awed for certain. I can not think they truly vetted this woman before she was picked to be McCain's VP.

Right now, at this moment, I can honestly say... I'm at a loss for words.
After having listened to Barak's speech again last night I pondered other great people in history who inspired us to rise up and do great things..

FDR inspired us to give all we could and rise up against and evil man and destroy him and all he stood for. He asked to help our military, he built up our military when even our military thought it impossible and we, as a nation, rose up and defeated a horrible man, a horrible philosophy and helped Europe and the world become a better and safer place.

FDR was elected to 4 terms as President because people believed in him because he believed in and inspired them to be better and do greater things, at a time when the United States was at one of the lowest points in it's history.

FDR was a Democrat.

JFK inspired us to believe in greater possibilities. He challenged us to go to the Moon at a time when even that thought was unheard of for most. USSR was leading the way in the space race, but JFK believed that, we, the United States, could do it better and before them. He believed and, because of that, he inspired us to also believe. In 10 years we were on the Moon. That United States Flag still flies proudly there today.

JFK also had 13 long and stressful days that could have ended disastrously for the world. Cuba, it was discovered had nuclear missiles. His military advisors were all about attacking Cuba, which would have ended in a disaster. JFK, however, listened to his own council, his brother and believed that diplomacy was a much better option. JFK chose a blockade. RFK talked through back lines to USSR and let them know it would not end well, if those blockades were over run. The blockades held. Disaster was avoided, not just for the United States, but for the World, because JFK did not listen to his military advisors and chose diplomacy over aggression.

JFK was a Democrat.   Read More »
Obama makes us proud to be democrats.

The republicans are a long ways off from realizing equality, integrity, and compassion.

Knowing that, we are so far ahead of them.

Clearly the differences between our two parties are simple.

We are not only progressive, we have evolved far beyond the dismal days of bigotry, sexism, greed, and violence.

We are the party of evolution, of the future, and of the perseverance of mankind.

We are the democrats.

We overcome obstacles.

We work with problems to create solutions, not deny and sweep them under a rug.

We deal with problems, because we are capable and willing to deal with them.

What ever the problem, we can work through it and rise above it.

No matter how much the republicans have screwed things us, we can handle it, because we are the democrats.

What a night, what a party!

Good night.

Obama/Biden 08 !
Not only is Barack Obama the official nominee for President for the United States Democratic party; he's the first black ever to be nominated to this position. This is history and every one was gushing tears. This really is a time of healing and a time of unity. No one can stuff that away anymore; we are united. I was so overwhelmed, the tears came flooding. I'm so happy for Barack and his family. We, this democratic party, not the Republican party, but THIS Democratic Party was the first diverse party that worked together to support a black man. The Democratic party did this, not the Republican party, but us! Has that hit you yet?? We are a party that doesn't see color, or gender; they do and wanted to make a big deal out of it. You won't see McCain nominating a black, or a woman. So, this is an amazing statement to the people of the democratic party that we just made, we led the way. Now, it's going to seep into the bowels of this country. We are one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL.

We have to be grateful to Hillary too. She fought a hard campaign and was so very gracious giving this beautiful gift to Barack. She didn't hesitate in grabbing that mike and taking charge in reading the proclamation to nominate Barack. My heart swells with grief, pride and joy simultaneously. We lost a beautiful sister, but gained a beautiful brother. And in gaining that brother, we made leaps of unity.

Right after the Democratic Roll Call and this monumental nomination, what would have the audacity to slap my tearful senses and stop my melting into the floor? McCain's commercial arrived on my television screen, picking on Barack for not taking Hillary as a VP. Can you believe it, I thought? This dark haired girl proclaims, "Now go ahead and vote him (McCain), it's ok, really." And walks off.

So yeah, so let's mirror this, like I keep preachin! "Go ahead, vote Barack, really, it's OK, and EVEN Hillary said it's ok. Really I saw it with my own eyes, it's okay, REALLY!" Then walk off and vote.

Can you imagine what this will do to Shawn Hannity and Rush Limbaugh? Fat guys are having coronary day!

Celebrate! Cheer! Rejoice! I am. :)

Here's a portion of 2 messages I got from McCain's manager: Rick Davis

(warning - they're shaking in their knee boots...you know, the ones they wear to walk thru their own sh@t).

"My opponent broke his pledge to the American people to accept public financing during the general election - a pledge I have kept. The Obama Democrats are raising unprecedented amounts of money. They and their liberal special interest allies - Big Labor, MoveOn.org, Hollywood elites and other left-wing groups - plan to spend nearly $1 BILLION in an effort to mow over Republican candidates with negative and misleading attack ads that will play non-stop across our country's airwaves from now until Election Day (LOL, how many Hillary commercials have they done? I heard today it's FIVE! Carry on!)

 - especially in the essential swing states. Despite what the Obama Democrats and the liberal media would have you believe, my campaign and the RNC rely on the generous voluntary contributions of Republican activists like you for the support we need to answer their barrage of assaults with the truth. Our immediate goal is to reach 2 million individual supporters by the night our Convention ends - September 4th.

After naming his running-mate, Senator Joe Biden, our campaign believes Senator Obama will receive a bump in polling numbers after this week's Democratic Convention in Denver. Senator Obama's bump in the polls means we need to re-double our efforts this week as we head into our own Convention starting September 1st. We're focused on electing the man we all know is ready to lead, a man who puts his country before all else, John McCain. (NOT!) That's why I'm asking you to make an immediate donation to our campaign As of September 1st, we'll be limited in the amount of money we can spend to elect John McCain. Senator Obama broke his promise to accept federal funds and will be able to spend WHATEVER HE WANTS TO DEFEAT US. (EXPLAINS WHY THEY'RE WEARING THEIR PUTTING ON THEIR HIP WADERS, THEY'RE GOING TO GET FLOODED!!) Any amount you can give today - up to the legal limit of $2,300 will go a long way. (LOL. THEY AREN'T ASKING FOR $5, $10, BUT SUGGESTING $2,300...YOU KNOW, POCKET CHANGE!!! THEY JUST DON'T GET IT, DO THEY??)

Here's the crucial time line that started the delivery of Georgia attacks against Russian peace keepers already (legally) stationed in South Ossetia. Keep in mind there were 500 peace keepers from each group (Russia, Georgia and Ossetia) inside of South Ossetia for the last 15 years and enjoying independence.

The time line starts before Aug. 3, 2008 (with Georgia-South Ossetia, then fast forward to Georgia-Russia conflict), but Bush and Condi Rice don't want   Read More »
Michelle is the bomb!

I think we can end this thing, here and now! She's going to be the highlight of this whole convention. SHE DELIVERED. She's gorgeous inside and out. She's already brought my tears and humbled me and inspired me. Today as I ironed, I thought about how she seemed...well, I thought cold, but that's not it, then I thought strong or unfriendly, but no, that's not it! After watching the documentary tonight, it answered that question of who she is: she learned from her father to be respectful at all cost. So, she reserved and respectful and graciousness to each person she meets. That's not cold, or unfriendly, it's smart.

She will be someone that little girls aspire to and her two daughters are already off to a good start with this great mama. Her mother should be very honored and proud. I cried when her mom said she looks up to her daughter, my mom just said this very comment to me. This Michelle and Michelle Obama have good mom's.

Wonderful job Michelle. Excellent! You're the bomb. I felt your passion for your man, for working hard and desire to save our country (this poor struggling country and hated country due to the cowboy in the capitol who likes to saber rattle...Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Georgia, b
