On August 19th in the evening Senator Clinton hosted a delegate conference call to discuss this year? historic convention. As a Hillary Clinton delegate, I was asked to participate in the call. In the spirit of the 2008 Olympic Games, she passionately affirmed that Senator Obama and our Democratic Party must cross the finish line in first place to ensure a better America.

Senator Clinton mentioned she has been and is working closely with Senator Obama and his team to make sure we have an exciting, energized and unified convention. Senator Clinton stated she would cast her superdelegate vote for Senator Obama, as well as release her delegates next Wednesday. (By the way, I? still learning procedurally how the roll-call process will work.)

It was an inspiring dialogue that included background on the Democratic Party Platform. She outlined some of the key elements calling for national healthcare (not as an aspiration, but a real action plan), the need to value families rather than talking family values, and an economic message that is forward-looking and engages entrepreneurs and innovators as we compete in the new global knowledge economy.

It sounds like we will soon know our Democratic V.P. candidate, a selection I? certain who will complement Senator Barack Obama. In order to win this race for President and cross the finish line in first place, this absolutely calls for your support, advice and mobilization.

Judicial activism is alive and well in the conservative Michigan High Court. What Michigan needs is progressive/liberal judges in Michigans two high courts. To do so we must begin to cultivate activist lawyers around the state to run for judicial office and create a viable farm team of candidates for the party�s highest Convention nominees for these offices. Michigan voters lost a great opportunity to make Michigan a better place to live. But what was accomplished was a state wide coalition in support of the 34 mandates included in the Convention amendment proposal. It is a reawaking that this is a strong vibrant country that welcomes and will publicly debate and allow presentation of competing policy positions. Protesting at a national political party convention is one form of expression. Of course we cannot allow property damage and violence because that protects the rights of individual.

IT IS A WONDROUS THING TO WATCH THE VOTERS TAKE BACK AMERICA FROM THE RIGHT WING INTEREST THAT HAVE SUBJECTED US FOR SO LONG.

Thousands of protesters are expected to jam the streets of Denver and St. Paul at the Republican and Democratic conventions in a noisy counterpoint to the parties' carefully scripted speeches.[1]This is what a convention is about. U.S. presidential nominating conventions historically have drawn activists of every stripe who hope to confront the political establishment and elbow their way into the media spotlight. The 2004 Republican convention in New York attracted more than 100,000 demonstrators.[1]

WHAT A GREAT MONTH TO BE AN AMERICAN
The FBI officials in each city said they are unaware of any specific, credible security threats this year. The street protests are expected to be largely peaceful, though the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota expects 800 arrests in St. Paul, most for minor infractions during an anti-war march that could draw between 30,000 and 60,000.[1] The voters are taking this country back.[trb]
Still, they will pose an additional challenge for security officials who will also have to protect senators, governors, President George W. Bush and thousands of other political bigwigs, along with the actual nominees for the November election.[1]
St. Paul's 600-member police force will swell to 3,500 for the convention, police spokesman Tom Walsh said. Denver's police force of 1,400 will also receive reinforcements from around the region. Both cities have received $50 million each in federal funds to pay for overtime, training and equipment like surveillance cameras.[1]
Federal agencies have been planning for the events since 2007, Secret Service spokesman Malcolm Wiley said.[1]
The Secret Service won't have a problem securing Invesco Field, the open-air football stadium where Obama will accept the nomination, Wiley said, as the agency handled Pope Benedict's two April masses at baseball fields in New York and Washington, as well as Bush's appearances at baseball games.[1]
"Whereas it's a new venue it's not a new challenge for us," Wiley said.[1]

The plan, dubbed "John McCain and American Innovation," is set to be released Thursday on the Republican presidential candidate's campaign Web site. It will call for a 10% tax credit on wages paid to all research-and-development employees. At the same time, it will reiterate Sen. McCain's opposition to Internet taxes and new laws guaranteeing net neutrality, the idea that Internet providers must treat all legal Internet traffic equally.[2]
At a fund-raise for Sen. Barack Obama, recently in Boston, Mass., Sen. John Kerry had some harsh words for Sen. John McCain. "The bottom line is, this administration has moved towards Barack Abomey�s positions. John McCain is still stuck on the low road express," Kerry said, referring to U.S. policy shifts regarding Afghanistan, Iran and North Korea. "He doesn�t get it," Kerry said of McCain. "He�s even dangerous, I think, for the direction of this country."[5]

Airspace around Denver will be restricted and the interstate that runs by the stadium may be closed, he said.[1]
Others see possible problems.[1]

"It could be a real nightmare to get 76,000 people into Invesco Field," said Denver City Council member Charlie Brown. "Do we close the interstate or will the protesters? That's a very big issue."[1]

Protest organizers have also been sparring in court with local officials over when and where they'll be able to rally. Both cities have laid out march routes and designated "free speech zones" near the convention halls, and both cities will provide a stage and sound system for protesters.[1]
But some have vowed to ignore these restrictions.[1]

HERE�S THAT BIG WORD AGAIN
In St. Paul, a self-described anarchist group dubbed the RBC Welcoming Committee aims to blockade downtown St. Paul and bridges and disrupt transportation shuttles.[1]
In Denver, anarchist groups plan to target fund-raisers and hotels where Democratic delegates are staying.[1]

VIOLENCE CANNOT BE TOLERATED!
Groups espousing similar tactics have managed to wreak havoc at other events, most notably the 1999 meeting of the World Trade Organization in Seattle, where protesters smashed store windows, set fires and caused an estimated $2 million in property damage.[1]
"These noises do need to be taken seriously," said Norm Stamper, Seattle's police chief at the time.[1]

A CONSERVATIVE DEFINITION OF AND ANARCHIST IS , LIBERAL

I attended the The genesee County Progresive Democrats, FLINT MI USA, meeting 12/12/08. The groups guest was Mark Brewer, Democratric State Party Chairperson.

HE SPOKE STRONGLY AND WITH CONVICTION.

This is the man who derailed Michigans Delegate selections Election and to some disenfranchising 500,000 Michigan voters. He appeared pitching the Reform Michigan Now Ballot initiative in which he said. "We" have enough signatures unless the courts stop us , which they are trying .[WE] will be on the ballot. This ballot question will split the democrats , unless we act, and cause the Republicans to go to the polls who may not have because McCain Is such a piece of crap.. Brewer will survive...Mark must have played baseball and longed to be a coach.

REFLECTIONS:

What if it were true that the world cannot feed its population? History shows this is not a problem unique to today. But if true and its world wide the stakes are much higher. What if Globalization is followed by a return to Economic Localization? What if it is true that throughout human history food collection was a primary societal organizational objective? Well, we cannot feed our world population much less the new number 10 years from now. Globalization as an organizing economic theory will collapse when populations are starving. We want to eat before we" text message". Our economic organizing principals, in emergening localization, will change but really only return that tried and true paradigm... we will to anything to survive. We must eat to survive. This paradigm shift has already begun world wide and in America. We are running out of time to avoid famine.


I looked to what is happening now in the world , The Sudan ,to understand what may happen to America in 10 years. My thoughts , observations and question, follow:

1. THE RICH WILL RAID THE LAND RESOURCES OF THE POOR, PEOPLE AND COUNTRIES.

2.WHY DO WE HAVE A CRISIS? IT BASED ON ECONOMIC EXPLOITATION OVER PEOPLE�S LIVES?

3.BIG MONEY WILL GRAVITATE TO BIG FARMING

4.BIG MONEY WILL FEED THE WORLD MARKET AND LET THE HOST COUNTRY STARVE.

5. WE MUST CAUSE A MASSIVE INCREASE IN FOOD PRODUCTION.

6.LIKE THE INHABITANTS OF A RESORT ISLAND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ALL THE FOOD HAS TO BE IMPORTED?WE BECOME ECONOMICLY VULNERABLE.

7.THERE IS A FUTURE IN AGRIBUSINESS FOR THE NEW GRADUATES

8.WE FEED THEIR POOR ,THERE RICH FEED THE WORLD.

9.CORPORATIONS BECOME IMMORAL... HEARD THAT BEFORE REGIMES BECOME PARASITIC AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

We are seeing big money fall behind wind turbine initiatives. Big money usually relies on big research and can defend their positions with a multitude of studies, as now with T.Boone Pickens and his wind tunnel initiatives. What is his motivation? Profit of course. He desires to affect public policy to benefit his natural gas .Pickens has posted his plan on line, spoken to Congress and putting millions of his own money behind referendums in California and lobbying Congress. Why we do not have more solar power and wind turbines? Is it the fault of our elected officials ,in both parties., A new public grid should be built and if government is not up to the challenge, let it be private. There is room for us in Michigan. To build wind turbines, look for areas of consistent wind. Our governments State, and Federal should get behind the idea of a new electric grid or get out of the way. Congress should declare an energy emergency and focus on our energy problems.

**** REFLECTION OF THE WEEK:
IT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE COURT SYSTEM TO DISPENSE JUSTICE. The role of the Prosecutor is to bring people to court to allow the court to dispense justice. The role of the Sheriff is to hold people for court. And when sentenced to impose the justice the court ordered. The Sheriffs or the Prosecutors role is not to dispense justice. Some of us remember the perp walks of Anthony and Pritcher. I am not defending either one but only question why were they taken into district court in shackles with the press notifed ahead of time and the Sheriff and Prosecutor both present. The average person will say great. But in each case private attorney's were negotiating the entry into court. The Sheriff and Prosecutor decided to handle the high profile case differently.Here Mengesha has a private attorney negotiating his return to district court. He was arrested at the airport. Why? If he is given a humiliating perp walk and the yells of support fade away ask why? Were the Prosecutor and Sheriff disposing justice unique to the situation ? Or was it called for?-trb]

Aid groups accused some of the G8 nations -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States -- of walking away from earlier commitments.[2]With the hardship facing the G8 its no wonder Africa is paid les sattention. A Japanese venture company, Genepax, has unveiled a car on that runs on water. All it requires is a litre of water. In fact, any kind of water to be exact, whether its river, rain, sea water, or even Japanese tea. Its an electric powered car that runs solely on hydrogen dioxide.
"The main characteristic of this car is that no external input is needed. The car will continue to run as long as you have a bottle of water inside for you to add from time to time," said Kiyoshi Hirasawa, Chief Executive Officer of Genepax, after he proudly announced the company's invention.
Once water is poured into the water tank at the back of the car, the newly invented energy generator takes out the hydrogen from the water, releases electrons and finally generates electrical power.
"We highly recommend our system since it does not require you to build up an infrastructure to recharge your batteries, which is usually the case for most electric cars," said Hirasawa, who is hoping to advertise the car in time for the upcoming G8 Summit in Hokkaido, Japan.
