Today is primary day for local, state, and US congressional races. I have been particularly interested in the Demo Senate race...We have to get someone to unseat Saxby Chambliss! Looks like there will be a runoff....Vernon Jones is the guy who mailed fliers that pictured him and Obama "togehter". BTW, he is the current CEO of my county and he sucks!

Cynthia Tucker is an editorialist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, my local paper. This is her take on the recent situation with Jesse Jackson and Senator Obama. The AJC endorsed Obama in the Democratic primary and Tucker is an outspoken Obama supporter as well.

I just saw this on CNN and thought it very interesting. A US soldier is suing the military regarding his negative treatment since he became an athiest...He doesn't want money just a guarantee of freedom of religion within the military.

The Confederate Flag

On Jackie's KKK post there were comments about the Confederate Flag....I grew up in the south and still live here. Many people view this flag as part of their heritage and display it proudly. Personally, I see it as a symbol that embraces racism. Several states currently have state flags that incorporate aspects of this symbol.
