I'm shocked this wasn't brought up before...so...
I'll start.
Since the election, I have not heard a decision out of the transition team, which made me rethink my vote. I am amazed with each step at the difference Barack Obama sets in tone and content during every press op and interview. The appointment for VA is another example of forethought which has been sorely lacking in recent policy.
The interview this morning made me even more sure, that we have the right man at the helm. He is going to work for us. There is no doubt about it.
I'm so thankful to see a man who thinks, reads, and can speak in a position of power.
The relief chokes me up.
BTW... what is up with the "Highest Posts" ? Right now I only see 2. Yesterday it was 3.
Aren't there usually 5?
peace,

David Gregory is to take Tim Russert's place @ Meet the Press on NBC.
All I can say is HURRAH!!
I have been impressed by him for a few years now.
Watched him work during the Bush administration and navagate the press conferences.
Don't know who made the discission, but IMHO, he or she earned their keep on this one.
As a staple of my Sunday mornings, I can live with this.....
To David...
Just remember, there is a difference between information and propaganda and the American people are not stupid. We recognize propaganda, if not right away, eventually.
Keeping your credibility is key to your success.
Word is that the Obama team is going to look at the treaty after he takes office and work with our allies. Yeah!!!
Bush has refused to even talk about it........
Thank-you Barack....
Your position and vote on cluster bombs is what put me over the fence in support of you.
Here is a petition in support of the ban. It asks Gates to place a moritorium on their use.
I'm off again, but I wanted to say how thankful I am for all the kindess and support I have experienced in PB. We may not always agree. but I truly love you all and having this place to speak my mind over the last 2 years has been a gift of monumental importance to me.
God Bless you All.

Citibank is falling.

Why? Greed.
What can we do about it?
Stop this!

The Wash. Post is reporting that the Bush administration is embeding political appointees as " civil servants" in key environmental positions. Mining, water quality...etc Which will make it more difficult for us to achive fast change..
Tho this has been done before, it's still a problem.
Pass the word.. We need people to know what is being done.
The article.

I cried while watching the news... Finally.
The Democratic Party and our President-Elect. The saviours of democracy, our constitution and our international reputation.
Thank-you for keeping your promise.
Thank-you for doing what is right.
I am so proud to be a democrat and a citizen of the United States of America.
I wrote part of this in a comment but wanted to post it in support of my friends.
My daughter says there are riots in CA.
Sound like the civil rights era??? Duh!
Denial of equal rights for all people is the problem.
IMHO, get the rights first, then worry about what you call it.
Was the wording "marriage" or "civil union"?
My grandparents were married by a judge a "civil union". It was not uncommon. The word marriage means nothing after all... it is the equality of rights that matter.
This was a ploy by the Republican party in CA to energize their base and get the RR to the polls. Barack was still elected but the manipulation of truth was good enough to instill fear in many people.
This is about the use of fear and religion for power.
ALL People of faith must remember the most important commandment is "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Equal rights.
Take heart those of you suffering... we will get you there.
This is clearly discriminatory.
Look how far you have come in my lifetime...
In the '50's no-one was safely "out". Tho there is still abuse it is better. Remember Harvey Milk. We will get there... I am in support of equal rights for all people.
God Bless Mayor Newsom, doing the right thing is the most important thing.
Peace and Equality,

Ready to party!!!! I think we are in good shape. aprox. 206 demo votes of 501 in a republican precinct. Rough numbers but, that is NOT counting the independants and cross-overs. This is a VERY RED area.... We only had 87 no shows on our list.... IS THAT HUGE!!!!!!!!!

I thought you all might see the importance of this message being spread
around Indiana as well as Virginia...

Just got home from Indianapolis and seeing Barack today.
Thousands in drizzling rain. Andre Carson, Jill Long-Thompson and Evan
Bayh spoke.
Barack was brilliant and impressive as always..
I was chaparoning for a group of kids from our daughter's charter school
class.
Still brings tears to my eyes and I was not the only one.
peace to all of you..
peace is finally coming,

Part of the problem with the bailout, per Dennis Kucinich.
"Globalization of the debt puts the United States in the position that in order
to repay the money that we borrow from the banks (for the banks) we could be forced
to accept International Monetary Fund dictates which involve cutting health, social
security benefits and all other social spending in addition to reducing wages and
exploiting our natural resources. This inevitably leads to a loss of economic,
social and political freedom."
I don't know about you, but I would rather be poor and free...
peace,
marsha
Now wait a minute, I thought John was so busy saving the economy that he had no time for debate. Guess not.. and what a temper.. Saying "****you", in a bi-partisan meeting.
Not very statesman like. read the article.....
My brother-in law in Huston, TX sent us this link... Maybe some of you are getting this but in the Hoosier Heartland... we are not seeing the depth of the tragedy.
The Indy Star/WTHR TV/Seltzer poll reported Barack leading McCain by 3 points.
And they said it couldn't be done!!!!
McCain might have been counting his chickens here, but we are frying them!!!
I have been getting lots of positive response to my outward support,(buttons, peace signs, democrat pins). I hear from lots of people who are registering for the first time, many who are my age.( middle aged).
As bad as the economic news is, it has brought the folly of the past 8 years to the forefront where it belongs. The Economic plan Barack laid out online is worth sending to everyone you know.

The plan for medical debt and credit cards is brilliant, along with everything else.
